What comes to mind when you think of healthy or healthy eating?
Does it surprise you there are different perceptions of what is healthy?
We have different perceptions of what we think is healthy and it can change at any given moment.
Once upon a time, a turkey sandwich was what I considered healthy eating.
After all, a slice of meat with mayo between two pieces of bread couldn’t be bad right?
My love for turkey sandwiches laced with cheese , could only be out done by biscuits, cookies, and pizza.
My weight “rollercoastered” as I indulged in my love of comfort foods after my athletic career was over.
I found out I was sensitive to gluten years later, and eliminated bread and my beloved pizza from my diet
I didn’t think I would ever give up eating pizza but I was ready to do it.
My belief system about food changed.
I was evolving.
I began to think differently about what I ate and I got out of survival mode.
Survival in the sense that I ate whatever I could afford.
When you eat what you can afford, sometimes it is hard to be selective and make good choices.
For most, what they can afford often equates to cheap, processed food.
It is essential to raise one’s level of consciousness to be open to new experiences so survival mode can be surpassed.

Inside The Episode
I was very excited to have Evita on the podcast. I am always looking for new and innovative guests on the show.
Can you guess what caught my eye about Evita and her work? What stood out to me as I researched her for the show was her use of the word consciousness.
Evita is the only person I’ve come across who has used the words consciousness and nutrition in the same sentence.
If you’ve been following me and the site for any amount of time, you know my philosophy has changed. I truly believe consciousness and nutrition live in the same household.
As you become more aware of who you are physically, you will become more aware of who you are spiritually.
Evita epitomizes consciousness as she is multidimensional and practices what she preaches.
