A few years ago, I decided to eat only protein and no carbs.
For about 2 weeks, the weight was coming off at a rapid pace. Then all of a sudden, it happened.
I had what I would term a diet breakdown.
Late one night, my food cravings got really bad.
I could usually suppress them, but on this particular night it was if I was possessed.
I hopped in my car and “leadfooted” it to the grocery store.
I walked into the store and immediately found myself centered in the aisle where the pop tarts were located.
Coincidentally, I had been thinking about pop tarts for the last couple of days. I had no idea why, but at this moment it didn’t matter.
I grabbed two boxes of the “strawberry goodness” and headed to the checkout counter.
Within minutes of stepping out of the store, I had already ripped the box open and snatched out a pack.
I then preceded to rip the pack open and shoved one in my mouth. I would be lying, if I didn’t say, it tasted like a slice of heaven.
My diet was blown to smithereens, but I didn’t care! Before the night was over, I had devoured all two boxes of poptarts!
Over the years, I’ve had my bout with food cravings.
They would usually occur whenever I dropped calories in hopes of tricking my body into shedding body fat.
On sheer willpower, I would do well for a few weeks only to give into the craving and then blame myself for doing so.
I always thought I was just weak willed and couldn’t complete my diet. Now, I know that isn’t at all true.
