Aspartame poisoning began in 1981 and in 2015 it is more relevant than ever!
It never fails…you walk into a restaurant and see someone dumping Nutrasweet or Splenda into a cup of coffee or glass of Ice Tea.
What are they thinking?
Do they know what they’re doing?
I’m a big believer in information coming to us when we’re ready for it.
I wasn’t ready until the summer 2007.
In 2007, I was dating an avid diet coke drinker.
I tried diet sodas before but they didn’t “stick”, because I didn’t like the taste.
Against my better judgement, I gave Diet Coke a try and it didn’t taste as “aspartamey” as I thought it would.
I kept drinking it until I noticed my body would “jerk” before I fell asleep.
What could have been the cause of this?
I had no idea!
I do know…once I decided to give up Diet Coke, my jerking episodes ceased.
Coincidence or not?
That was the last time I drank diet soda.
Soon after, I quit sodas for good!
I firmly believed I suffered a slight case of aspartame poisoning.

I welcomed Cori Brackett to Perfectly Healthy And Toned Radio last week to talk about her 2004 documentary, “Sweet Misery”.
Cori was diagnosed in 2002 with multiple sclerosis and suddenly found herself in a wheelchair.
After stumbling upon information linking aspartame to MS symptoms, she decided to investigate.
It would prove to be beneficial as she had a six pack a day diet soda habit.
Aspartame is composed of the following: aspartic acid, methyl ester, and phenylalanine.
Phenylalanine is a neurotoxin which in large quantities has the propensity to excite brain cells to death. (excitotoxin)
Once aspartame enters the body it breaks down in methanol or wood alcohol.
Methanol then converts to formaldehyde.
Formaldehyde causes a gradual and sometimes immediate effects on the neurological system.
Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners have an easy time crossing over the blood brain barrier.
Because they cross over the blood brain barrier rather easily, they have been linked to birth defects, blindness, and seizures.
This has been known for some time but how was it ever approved for consumption?
Aspargame
In 1980 the FDA banned aspartame.
Several scientists and studies concluded Aspartame might induce brain tumors.
Former Secretary Of Defense and CEO Of GD Searle (maker of aspartame), Donald Rumsfeld, was determined to get it approved.
Shortly after Ronald Reagan ‘s election in 1981, Searle ( maker of aspartame) re-applied to have it approved.
Ronald Reagan then appointed Arthur Hull as the new FDA Commissioner
Hull immediately appointed a 5 person committee to review aspartame.
When the committee voted, it was 3-2 in favor of banning aspartame.
Hull then pointed a 6th member to the panel and the vote was deadlocked at 3-3.
In an unprecedented move,Hull then made himself the deciding vote and aspartame was approved.
Aspartame was given the go ahead to be added to soft drinks even though it was unsafe!
Since aspartame’ s inception, brain tumors and neurological conditions are continually on the rise.
Aspartame and/or sucralose are catalysts for many neurological conditions.
Aspartame poisoning is one of the most reported adverse effects to the FDA.
Now its your turn..Are you still drinking diet coke or pepsi? Have you personally experienced any symptoms?
Please share this article with a friend who may not know the aspartame and sucralose might have on them.
