Cancer is something seldom talked about but is feared in our society.
For many once they are diagnosis with this dreaded disease, it is usually a death sentence.
Speaking from experience, I can tell you it can lead a family emotionally, spiritually and financially drained.
Thirteen years ago on the day after Thanksgiving, My mother departed the physical plane.
It was a heart wrenching time for my family.
I’ll never forget standing in the hallway with my other’s oncology doctor as she slowly deteriorated within a few days.
In a last ditch effort, he told me there was one more experimental drug he could try which might keep my mother alive.
I declined the drug because consciously I knew my mom had already made her decision to leave.
In matter of days, she was gone.
I wrestled with thoughts for many years after her death wondering if i did everything possible to keep her alive
At the time of her departure, I only knew about allopathic medicine.
I served some time in the pharmaceutical industry as a rep and was dumbfounded when it seem all drug options were seemingly exhausted.
It would take me some years and the majority of my health journey, to discover there are various options for those who are diagnosed with struck with cancer.
The more simpler option for many who are diagnosed with the disease is to change their diet.
There is power in changing the diet.
I know it and so does Miriam Kalamian.
Today’s episode is Keto for Cancer with Miriam Kalamian.
Miriam shares her story on Perfectly Healthy and Toned Radio of switching to a ketogenic diet to assist her son with a better quality of life after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Who is Miriam Kalamian

She earned her master of education (EdM) from Smith College and her master of human nutrition (MS) from Eastern Michigan University.

Inspired by the work of Thomas N. Seyfried, PhD, Miriam draws on a decade of experience to provide comprehensive guidelines that specifically address the many diet and lifestyle challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis.
Miriam is a leading voice in the keto movement.
Her passion for helping others implement this diet comes directly from her personal experience.
Her son Raffi was diagnosed with a brain tumor in December 2004.
Standard of care therapies failed to stop the relentless progression of his disease, and it became painfully clear that she needed to switch gears quickly.
That is what originally led her to Dr. Thomas Seyfried’s research supporting the use of the ketogenic diet for cancer.
Inside The Episode
As I was preparing for this episode, I thought about how far I’ve come.
I felt helpless when my mother passed and even doubted if I had done everything possible to keep her alive.
Illness and sickness can be blessings.
I don’ t think I ‘d be on this path of helping others if it had not been for my mother’s passing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast with Miraim Kalamian.
It is my mission to facilitate information for people so they can make conscious health decisions.
